Grecia y Turquía

El año pasado decidí planear un viaje más a Europa. Así que abrí mi espacio a lo que el Universo tuviera para mí, y a los pocos meses, recibí dos boletos GRATIS para viajar a cualquier parte de Europa desde Dallas.

Aprovecho este espacio para agradecer a los Jardínes Botánicos de Dallas y a la aerolínea Lufthansa por este presente tan divertido y feliz.

El destino que escogí fué Grecia y Turquía, simplemente por su lejanía. Así pude sacar mayor provecho de mis boletos. Además de que siempre he tenido una enorme atracción por el Mar Egéo por ser la cuna de tantos pensadores, y su vasta y compleja historia e impacto en nuestro mundo y sus civilizaciones.

Antes de partir, traté de aprender un poco de Griego y Turco, así como planear un poco el recorrido. Lo único que sabía era que iniciaba en Atenas y contaba con dos semanas para llegar a Istambul por donde regresaría a Dallas. La ruta de enmedio, aún quedaba por descubrir.

Como siempre llevé mis cámaras, tripié, y laptop para tomar cientos de fotos y videos. Al final, tomé casi 3,000 en total. Con esto superé todos mis records anteriores.

A mi regreso me topé con la interminable tarea de seleccionar las mejores tomas. Trás varios intentos fallidos, decidí presentar todas las fotos sin edición alguna.

Seguiré trabajando en editarlas. Por el momento aquí están 2,300 fotos. Las páginas presentan fotos pequeñas que al seleccionarlas se agran-dan. La calidad no es la mejor, pero no caben en mi sitio de otra manera. Además así es más rápido bajarlas.

Greece and Turkey

Last year, I decided to plan one more trip to Europe. So, I opened my space to whatever the Universe had for me, and just a few months after, I got two FREE tickets to travel anywhere in Europe from Dallas.

I want to use this space to thank the Dallas Arboretum and Lufthansa Airlines for this happy and fun present.

The destiny I chose for the trip is Greece and Turkey, just because they are so far away. This way I took full advantage of my tickets. Besides, I have always had an enormous attraction for the Egean Sea for this is the creadle of so many thinkers, and its vast and complex history and impact in our world and its civilizations.

I need to learn some Greek and Turkish, as well as planning in general our tour. All I know is that we will arrive in Athens and that we have two weeks to reach Istambul, from where we will return to Dallas. The middle part of the way, is yet to be discovered.

As usual, I am took my cameras, trpod, and laptop to shoot hundreds of pictures and videos. At the end, I shot almost 3,000 in total. With this, I broke all my past records.

When I came back, I faced the endless work of selecting the best shots. After several unfortunate attempts, I decided to present all of the pictures without any editing at all.

I will keep working on the selection process. For now, here are the 2,300 pictures. The pages show thumbnails that will enlarge if you click on them. The quality is not the best, but they would never fit in my site otherwise. Besides, it is easier to download them.
